En Ecuador y en varios pa\u00edses del Sur global se evidencia una falta de informaci\u00f3n robusta que sustente la toma de decisiones en tiempos de r\u00e1pidos cambios sociales y ambientales. En la Mancomunidad del Choc\u00f3 Andino por ejemplo se observan variaciones en el r\u00e9gimen de precipitaci\u00f3n y una tendencia a la disminuci\u00f3n del agua disponible para consumo humano y usos productivos, sin embargo no se tiene un registro de mediciones que permitan establecer tendencias que justifiquen acciones de adaptaci\u00f3n y\/o mitigaci\u00f3n.. Es por esto que se ha priorizado la instalaci\u00f3n de 3 estaciones de monitoreo meteorol\u00f3gico que se instalar\u00e1n en las zonas alta, media y baja de la mancomunidad del Choc\u00f3 Andino, procurando recopilar datos en una gradiente altitudinal que va desde los 500 msnm hasta los 4500 msnm.<\/p>\n
Esta informaci\u00f3n permitir\u00e1, evaluar las tendencias en cuanto al cambio de temperatura, humedad, presi\u00f3n atmosf\u00e9rica, precipitaci\u00f3n, radiaci\u00f3n solar,, estacionalidad, entre otras variables de importancia fundamental para la toma de decisiones estrat\u00e9gicas en cuanto a servicios ecosist\u00e9micos para la poblaci\u00f3n y gesti\u00f3n de sistemas productivos<\/p>\n
Las estaciones meteorol\u00f3gicas se ubicar\u00e1n en reservas naturales vinculadas a la investigaci\u00f3n que custodiar\u00e1n y dar\u00e1n mantenimiento a los equipos. La informaci\u00f3n generada se transmitir\u00e1 v\u00eda internet para ser sistematizada por el equipo del proyecto. Al finalizar el proyecto se elaborar\u00e1 y publicar\u00e1 un informe con los datos recopilados durante el tiempo de operaci\u00f3n de las estaciones.<\/p>\n
Una vez terminado el proyecto, Fundaci\u00f3n Imaymana se encargar\u00e1 de continuar con la recopilaci\u00f3n y sistematizaci\u00f3n de datos que se publicar\u00e1n peri\u00f3dicamente por canales de difusi\u00f3n locales. Se buscar\u00e1n alianzas con actores acad\u00e9micos para que aportenen en la gesti\u00f3n de la informaci\u00f3n genrada.<\/p>\n
Cabe mencionar que estos equipos tienen una durabilidad de varias d\u00e9cadas, de manera que con el pasar del tiempo seguir\u00e1n generando datos que robustecer\u00e1n la informaci\u00f3n disponible para entender m\u00e1s claramente las tendencias clim\u00e1ticas locales.<\/p>\n
